Fast Facts

  • Government backed scheme which pays for every kilowatt of electricity you produce.
  • Feed in Tariffs are designed to help you become more self sufficient with your energy production.
  • Protect yourself from the rising cost of traditional electricity production.
  • Earn a tax free, index linked income for the electricity you produce - and sell back that which you don't use

  • You earn a fixed income hour of electricity you generate and use in your property - up to 43.3 pence per kilowatt hour produced.
  • You earn an additional fixed income for every kilowatt hour of electricity you generate and sell back to the grid - an additional 3 pence per kilowatt hour.
  • When you can't generate enough electricity for your needs - (at night and on very cloudy days) you still buy electricity from your utility company at the normal rate, but it will be much less electricity than you currently buy.

How It

Works

Typical Example

Based on an average household, a three-four bedroom house, that installed solar PV panels to generate electricity.

If an average household, for example a three or four bedroom house, installed solar PV panels that egenrate electricity, the Feed In Tariffs would provide the following benefits:

  • the electricity generated would earn the home owner £1,682.21 a year, tax-free.
  • a reduction in energy bills would save a further £252.53 per annum.
  • a typical export payment per annum would be £58.28

therefore the total benefit would be £1,993.01 per annum
